Our first time at Queen Margherita. We have been wanting to go for a long time.
They have an amazing deal for 3 courses for $20! This includes any pizza off the menu!
Amuse bouche bread
Arugula salad w/ grilled mushrooms, Parmigiano, and Balsamic Glaze - a very generous portion.
Roasted beets, endive, candied pecans, whipped goat cheese, grapefruit vinaigrette:
Margherita Extra pizza – San Marzano DOP tomato sauce, fior di latte, fresh basil, parmigiano reggiano, and cherry tomatoes. I wish they would chiffonade the basil. Whole basil leaves are not appetizing to me. But I liked this way better than the Libretto Margherita pizza. QM & PL use the same method of Neopolitan style, blasting the pizza in a very hot over for a very short time. Queen Margherita’s was not black and burnt and soggy and greasy like Libretto’s. It is a very large portion, so I ate half and took the other half home.
Capricciosa pizza – San Marzano DOP tomato sauce, fior di latte, prosciutto cotto, mushrooms.
Rocco pizza – San Marzano DOP tomato sauce, fior di latte, gorgonzola, Italian sausage, and red onion
Nutella mousse – very good, it reminded me of a chocolate pudding. I liked the different textures of the nuts and the ladyfingers.
I would definitely recommend Queen Margherita! Far and away better than Pizzeria Libretto. See my previous review of Libretto Danforth at http://weatethat.wordpress.com/2013/03/26/pizzeria-libretto-danforth/
