We went to Bosk in the Shangri-La Hotel for our anniversary dinner. Some friends of ours had their anniversary dinner at Bosk soon after it opened and they liked it. It is close to the Four Seasons Center and we went to Bosk after the Mad Hot Ballet Gala.
I ordered the Lobster Gnocchi, which is listed as an appetizer and has potato gnocchi, forest mushroom, tomato, lobster emulsion. The lobster was slightly undercooked. The gnocchi were petit gnocchi. I get so excited when I see lobster gnocchi on the menu but this dish did not measure up to ones I’ve had elsewhere.
I also ordered another appetizer, the Nova Scotia Scallops, which came with avocado, hon-shimiji mushrooms, crunchy rice, toasted sesame ginger dressing. The waitress had said there would be three scallops, but there were only two.
The mushrooms were the cutest, teeny-tiniest mushrooms I had ever seen!
Husband ordered the Alberta Beef Short Rib, which came with potato purée, foraged mushrooms, heirloom carrots, natural jus. It was a beautiful presentation, and he liked it all.
We were too full for dessert.
Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful.
