Our first time at Guu. I’d been dying to go for a while. People seem to rave about this place. It is also a popular spot for birthdays.
Short ribs (kalbi):
kinoko bibimbap w/ rice, mushrooms, and cheese:
deep fried brie w/ blueberry and mango sauces:
Gindara – grilled black cod w/ saikyo miso and white wine sauce:
yakiudon: Husband really liked this; I thought it tasted horrible and had a weird artificial taste.
dessert plate: crème brulee, cheesecake, sponge cake, black sesame ice cream
I thought Guu was going to be amazing but it was definitely underwhelming. I kept ordering more, trying to find a dish that I would like but all of these did not live up to expectations. The table next to us looked like they ordered totally different things, so maybe it all depends on what you order. They did make it a fun birthday though. I should give them another try.
