Our first time at Gusto 101, an Italian restaurant near King West.
Mozzarella di Bufala – roasted tomatoes, basil oil, parmigiano crisp, smoked paprika, arugula. I really liked the parmigiano crisp
Carpaccio – beef tenderloin, truffled cannellini beans, arugula, pecorino
Polipo – char-grilled octopus, olive tapenade, green beans, basil oil, citrus emulsion
Bruschetta ai Funghi – wild mushrooms, truffle oil, manchego
Roasted Pumpkin Agnolotti – sage brown butter, parmigiano, poppy seeds – loved it! very buttery, but in a good way
Rigatoni Lucani – shredded braised lamb shank, tomato, fresh herbs, shaved pecorino. Husband found this to have chunks of fat that made it unappetizing.
Tagliata di Manzo – grilled flank steak, arugula, roasted grape tomatoes, avocado, pecorino, balsamic vinaigrette
Spaghetti Chitarra all’Amatriciana – tomato, pingue guanciale, thai chili, pecorino. Tim really liked this and said he could eat two orders.
Fettuccine ai Funghi – portobello, porcini, oyster mushrooms, truffle paste, light cream sauce
Lasagne – tomato, wild mushroom, pork salsicce bolognese
Desserts for the birthday boy were complimentary:
Crema Cotta – liquore di caffe
Budino al Cioccolato – coconut, caramel, cream
Ravioli di Pera Fritti – pear, fig, spiced red wine reduction
